Access
Access refers to physical access to the clinic – and includes issues such as proximity, the type and the focus of the clinic one is accessing, and issues related to parking and entering the facility. Physical access to the clinic and the convenience of getting to its location is a factor that impacts patient satisfaction.
Access is determined through not only geographic proximity or lack of it, but is also based on the type and focus of the clinic one is accessing. For example, a clinic could serve multiple user groups or choose to focus on a certain demographic.
At the clinic, parking related issues are also an influence on the patient’s experience even before entering the facility. Clear signage and wayfinding from the parking to the clinic’s interior also influences how soon the patients can reach the clinic, and then visual cues inside the building help guide the patients to their needs within the clinic – all contributing to how quickly and easily patients can get in and out of the facility.
